Dana began dancing over 20 years ago when her legs outgrew her horse and she had to end her
equestrian hunter/jumper career. Prior to putting her long legs to use with Suchu, you may have seen her, but not have known
it, on stage as Foghorn Leghorn at Six Flags. During her more than 4 years of college at the University of Houston, Dana performed
with the Cougar Dolls. She gained her love for modern dance through the UH Dance Ensemble under the direction of Victoria
Loftin and Joanna Friesen. Dana’s choreography has been selected to premiere at the American College Dance Festival,
12 Minutes Max!, and the Pink Ribbons Project in Galveston. Dana is a “lucky” wife and wants to thank
her husband for all of his love, support and understanding.
Jessica Harper
Jessi likes to dance. When she’s not dancing, you can find her at Montessori Country
Day School, where she has recently been promoted to the position of Director at the Crawford campus. She holds a B.A. in English
from Rice University and relishes the fact that she still gets to read stories for a living.
Leo Muñoz
Leo began dancing at the University of Houston under the direction of Karen Stokes and faculty
in 1998. He is a former member of the UH Dance Ensemble and has a B.A. in theatre from UH. Leo’s choreography “At
Third Glance” was selected by adjudication to be performed at the American College Dance Festival in Edmond, OK in the
the spring of 2005. Leo has performed with Travesty Dance Group, Urban Indian Beat, and is excited finally to be performing
with Suchu.
Tina Shariffskul
Tina has an MBA from the University of Houston although usually prefers dancing to business.
She’s been performing under Jennifer Wood’s guidance since 1993. She enjoys all styles of dance, and would someday
like to learn how to rumba. Against her father’s wishes (many years ago), she took up muay thai and still runs out of
breath before the end of a round. Tina highly promotes the idea of finding something you enjoy doing every day ... like singing
in the car.
Lindsey Thompson
Lindsey began her dance training as soon as she was walking under the direction of Paula Evelo
and Janet Thompson. She has since continued her education through various studios and organizations throughout Houston. Lindsey
performed with the University of Houston Ensemble for two years. During this time she was awarded Choreographer of the Year
2002 and received the Outstanding Dancer Award 2003. Her choreography has been performed for the Gala at the American College
Dance Festival, the UH Faculty concert, and in the Big Range Dance Festival. Her work focuses on activating the visual arts
within choreography. Lindsey is currently a photography and digital media major at the University of Houston and teaches modern
dance at her mother’s dance studio.
